Do I need to order my cupcakes in advance?
Not at all! We are happy to serve walk-in customers. For our store locations and hours, please click here.
Can I phone or e-mail an order for pick-up?
Of course! The best way to place an order is through our new online ordering system. However, you can also contact us at either of our two locations and one of our Catering Managers would be happy to assist you with placing an order over the phone.
Do you accept call-ahead orders for same day pick-up?
Because we receive a large volume of order requests, we request that all call-ahead orders be placed at least 24 hours in advance. However, you may always come into the shop during our regular business hours and purchase any number of cupcakes as a walk-in customer.
If I placed a pre-order, do I have to wait in line?
Not at all! If you placed a pre-order, you can walk into the store and one of our front counter associates would be happy to assist you!
Do I need to pre-pay?
For pickup and delivery orders, we kindly request payment in advance. Our delivery agents do not accept cash on delivery.
Can I order a flavor that is not available on the day of the week I will be picking up my cupcakes?
Unfortunately, we are only able to offer the selection of flavors available on the day of your order. However, we do make exceptions for large catering orders. Please contact one of our catering managers for further information.
Does Georgetown Cupcake deliver?
Yes! Georgetown Cupcake delivers to all locations in the Metro DC region inside the 495 Beltway. The minimum order for delivery is one dozen cupcakes and the delivery fee is $10. Please allow a three-hour time window for delivery.
What is the earliest time I can have my cupcakes delivered?
We deliver seven days a week. Our earliest three-hour delivery window is 10am to 1pm. Our latest delivery window is 4pm to 7pm.
Can I have my cupcakes shipped to me?
Yes! We now offer nationwide shipping to the lower 48 states. Please visit our website for more information on shipping or to place an order. You can email all questions regarding shipping to shipping@georgetowncupcake.com.
Does Georgetown Cupcake only bake cupcakes?
Yes! Our menu includes over 60 flavors of cupcakes and we regularly add exciting new flavors. For daily flavor offerings, please refer to the menu on our website. In addition to cupcakes, we serve a variety of specialty coffees, teas, espressos, and lattes.
Does Georgetown Cupcake sell mini-cupcakes?
We do offer mini-cupcakes for special events! We ask that you purchase at least two dozen per flavor. The cost is $29.00 for two dozen mini cupcakes and you can choose from any of the flavors available on the day of the week you would be picking up the cupcakes.
How do I store my cupcakes?
We recommend that you store your cupcakes at room temperature. If you will be consuming the cupcakes more than 24 hours after purchasing them, you can freeze them and they are good for up to 10 days after they are purchased. To thaw them, leave them at room temperature for 2–3 hours before they are to be served.
Does Georgetown Cupcake offer custom fondant decorations?
We decorate our cupcakes with a variety of hand-made fondant hearts, flowers, and other seasonal decorations. Additional decorations are available for special occasions including holidays, weddings, birthdays, baby showers, and bridal showers. Custom decorations are offered at no additional charge. Can you put my company logo on a cupcake?
Yes! With two weeks notice, we can have a custom stamp made for a $5 charge and use it to create special decorations for your company event.
What color fondant do you have?
As we hand-make the fondant in the store, we can do any color! For special events we can match to the color of your choice or our fondant artists can choose a color that will look best with your order.
Does Georgetown Cupcake offer special icing colors?
Yes, we do offer special icing colors for orders placed in advance. Color options include baby blue, baby pink, bubblegum pink or sunshine yellow icing on either chocolate or vanilla cupcakes. For other colors, please contact our Catering Manager.
Does Georgetown Cupcake cater for weddings, baby showers and other events?
Yes! We offer free consultation for weddings and other special events. For information, please contact one of our Catering Managers and they will be happy to assist you.
How many cupcakes do you recommend per person?
We typically recommend one cupcake per person and then suggest rounding up to the nearest dozen or two dozen above that number, depending on the size of the event. As our cupcakes are less expensive by the dozen, we always recommend ordering by the dozen.
Does Georgetown Cupcake rent cupcake stands?
Unfortunately, we do not rent cupcake stands. However, we do provide free consultation on options for setting up your cupcakes and can also recommend tier rental locations.
Does catering include on-site set up?
Unfortunately, we do not offer on-site set-up or display services. However, our Catering Managers can provide different options and suggestions for set-up and would be happy to help you find the best way to display your cupcakes!
Does Georgetown Cupcake offer individual boxing?
We do offer individual favor boxes for an additional $.50 per box. The boxes are our standard pink boxes sealed with a Georgetown Cupcake sticker.
Are there price breaks above one dozen cupcakes?
Each dozen is a 10% discount off of the price for individual cupcakes. We are also pleased to offer custom fondant decorations at no additional charge.
Does Georgetown Cupcake have Red Velvet cupcakes?
Yes! We have Red Velvet cupcakes on our menu every day!
What is the difference between chocolate² and chocolate³?
Chocolate³ is a Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a thin layer of rich Callebaut chocolate ganache icing topped with French chocolate sprinkles. Chocolate² is a Valrhona chocolate cupcake with a whipped Callebaut chocolate frosting topped with a fondant flower.
What is the difference between Georgetown Cupcake’s signature icing
and the traditional sweet buttercream?
Georgetown Cupcake’s signature frosting is a vanilla cream cheese frosting that is less sweet than a traditional buttercream frosting. We are pleased to offer both frosting options on our daily menu.
Does Georgetown Cupcake offer any gluten-free, vegan or sugar-free cupcakes?
Georgetown Cupcake is pleased to offer gluten-free cupcake flavors and we are constantly adding new flavors to our menu. New flavors are announced on our website, Facebook, and Twitter pages. Currently, we do not have vegan flavor options on our menu.
If I have a nut-allergy, should I eat at Georgetown Cupcake?
Georgetown Cupcake is NOT a nut-free kitchen. Several of our flavors use peanuts or other nut products. We recommend that customers with severe nut allergies err on the side of caution and not eat our cupcakes.
Are charitable donations available from Georgetown Cupcake?
Of course! We are proud partners with the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Hope for Henry Foundation. We support a variety of causes and frequently donate cupcakes to approved charitable organizations.
